Cookie Policy

Last updated: 22 Oct 2026

Effective Date: October 22, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Alhayek Medical Academy (AMA) uses cookies and similar technologies on its website and learning platform. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, keep small pieces of information on your device in the same way. They let the site remember you between pages and visits.

2. How we use them

When you first visit the site, a notice tells you that we use cookies. By continuing to use the site, you agree to our use of cookies as described in this policy.

3. The cookies we use

  • Sign-in and security (essential): keep you signed in to your account, protect your session and help detect unauthorised access. Set by WordPress when you log in (for example wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_*).
  • Cart and checkout (essential): remember the plan in your cart and keep the checkout working (for example woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_*).
  • Order attribution: record how you arrived at the site (for example, from a search engine or a social media link) so we can understand which channels bring new students (sbjs_*).
  • Preferences: remember choices such as having seen the cookie notice (ama_cookie_notice, 12 months) and, inside the learning area, display settings such as text size or dark mode (stored in your browser).
  • Payment provider: during payment, our payment gateway (PayTabs) may use its own cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud.
  • Video player: lesson videos are delivered by Bunny Stream, whose player may store technical information needed to play the video smoothly.

We do not currently use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across other websites. If we add analytics or marketing tools in the future, we will update this policy before they are used.

4. How long cookies last

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Other cookies stay for a limited period, from a few days up to 12 months, unless you delete them earlier.

5. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to sign in, keep items in your cart or complete a payment.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the tools we use change. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
